Meet the Creator

Ready to shine was created as part of my capstone project while pursuing my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Initially, it was developed to provide a practical coaching framework for occupational therapists to use when supporting educators to implement practices that promote student participation and performance. With a background as a special education teacher, I have always been passionate about helping students with diverse needs thrive in the classroom.

As I continued to develop Ready to Shine, the framework expanded to support not just educators, but also interdisciplinary professionals and caregivers. The Ready to Shine: An occupational therapy coaching framework guidebook can now be used by occupational therapists when supporting anyone playing a primary role during a child’s growth.

Today, Ready to Shine is a comprehensive resource offering self-regulation tools and approaches for therapeutic practitioners, educators, caregivers, and other professionals. These resources are designed to help create environments where children can fully participate and succeed in their daily lives.

As I transition into my professional career, my hope is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those I work with, whatever that looks like for each person, by empowering them to believe in themselves and achieve what matters most to them; ensuring that everyone is ready to shine.
